During this time, you might want to share this story with your child- a tale of bravery, resilience and knowing things will eventually return to normal.

Welcome to Class 1H!
1H are a Fantastic Team.  We love learning and we are really positive and enthusiastic.  Our teacher is Mrs Hollyman and we are supported in class by Mrs Burns.

We have lots of exciting and inspiring activities planned this year, so please keep an eye on our newsletters and social media for dates and times!  A Gruffalo Hunt, Healthy Smoothie making, Outdoor art work and puppet making are just a few.   A fun and fascinating journey lies ahead!

PE is on a Monday and a Tuesday, so please leave PE kits in school all week, including pumps or trainers.  P.E this year is taught by Mr McMahon.

We have singing with Mr. Simons on a Thursday afternoon and we are also learning to play the ocarina in our Music lessons on a Wednesday morning.

We have PSHCE with Mr Beaumont on a Tuesday morning.

Homework is given out every Friday and is expected back the following Wednesday. If you are unsure about anything please do not hesitate to speak to an adult in our class.

Home-School Reading
Two home-school reading books will be brought home each week. Please listen to your child read at least 3 times each week and fill in the yellow reading diary after each reading session.

How to help your child
Please try to ensure you support your child with their homework each week and read with them EVERY DAY. Encourage your child to use money when visiting the shop. Help your child to practise counting forwards and backwards in ones, twos, fives and tens. Ask them to help you with writing shopping lists and sing counting songs in the bath!  Bedtime stories are a great opportunity for spending some quality time together and reading stories together, will develop your child’s vocabulary and language skills.  Have fun!

Please ensure all uniform and coats, hats and footwear are labelled with your child’s name to allow us to return any lost items.

We have an open door policy so if you ever need to speak to one of the teachers, please call in before or after school, telephone or go to the office to make an appointment.

We look forward to working with your children this year and sharing our learning with you!
