We love our school and we think you will too!
I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher at Thornhill Junior and Infant school. I am passionate about education and believe that at Thornhill we have created something truly unique and special. We have a strong team who want to change lives and make a difference. As parents ourselves, we measure everything we do by what we would want for our own children.
At Thornhill, we are strongly committed to helping our children grow and develop the skills that they will need to be successful in life. We take great pride in the broad and exciting curriculum we offer our children and the range of support they receive in order to thrive, confident to take on the challenges they will face as they grow older.
Music is at the heart of everything we do as we believe that ‘Music can change the world because it can change people’ – Bono. We are one of the strongest schools in the country for music. Over a seven year period each child learns to play ten different musical instruments including; violin, ukulele, steel pans, trombone and keyboard. We sing at every opportunity and love to attend festivals, concerts and celebrations to show off our talents.
Our school aims to play a full and active role in the local community. We value all our children and their families and aim to keep parents/carers well informed about their children and the school’s activities. We welcome and encourage parents/carers to be involved in the life of the school.
At Thornhill we operate an ‘open door policy’ and are very pleased to be a partner with parents and children in their education. We hope that their journey will be a happy and successful one from Foundation Stage to Year 6.
Please come and see for yourself the wonderful things that go on at Thornhill Junior and Infant School. We’re sure you will pick up on the happy atmosphere, excellent behaviour, fab resources and exciting curriculum being delivered.
